iOS 18 update brings new customisation features, send later option and messages through Satellite.

iOS 18 update announced the WWDC 2024 keynote shows us new customisation tools, ability to schedule messages and new game mode for iPhone users.

iOS 18 is here and while the new AI features will be offered for select users, the main iOS update will be coming to a slew of iPhone models later this year. iOS 18 mostly focuses on the basics and gives you features that Android has offered for many years. Having said that, you finally get RCS message support on iPhones that Google has been pleading Apple to offer for a while.

In addition to this, Apple is also extending support for its Satellite tech to other features and yes, Siri is getting a major overhaul. Here’s a look at everything new with the iOS 18 update coming to iPhones in 2024.

– Biggest Apple Photos update

– Messages will work through Apple’s Satellite tech with the compatible iPhones.

– Now you can categorise mails based on the content, which could be related to shopping, transactions or even promotions.

– Emoji tap backs is like the long-press to react feature on WhatsApp that billions have been using.

– iPhone users can customise the control centre and add the tools that they use regularly.

– There is also an update for home screen customisations, allowing you to move the apps to the bottom of the screen so that

the purpose of the wallpaper doesn’t get ruined by the interface. You can also have larger icons on the main screen of your

iPhone.

– Messages app now lets you schedule texts with Send later

– iPhone users will also be getting the Game mode which focuses on enhancing the gaming performance.

– Locked or Hidden apps work to help you secure content from people when you share the iPhone with them. It can be enabled using Face ID, Touch ID or passcode.

iOS 18 developer beta is available from June 10, while the public beta comes through in July. The full release is expected with the iPhone 16 launch this year.
