An EV charging station has been set up at Morna Depot, and once it gets the electricity connection, electric buses will be able to charge here.

The Uttar Pradesh Transport Department is all set to roll out double-decker electric buses in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
As part of the initial trial, two buses will run between Noida’s Morna Depot and Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. If the service proves successful, it may be extended further to Jewar.
20 Buses Planned Across Uttar Pradesh in First Phase
In total, 20 double-decker electric buses are planned to be launched across the state during the first phase. Preparations are already underway, and the buses are expected to arrive at the depot soon.
As per Jagran.com, the decision was taken at a state-level meeting held recently. Depot staff have started making arrangements for the trial run.
Currently, CNG buses operate from Morna Depot to Pari Chowk and Jewar, including services from Sector-37 to Pari Chowk. The double-decker electric buses will offer greater passenger capacity, helping to reduce crowding on this heavily used corridor.
Charging Station Ready at Morna Depot
To support the new electric buses, a charging station has been installed at Morna Depot. Once the electricity connection is in place, it will be fully functional. Buses travelling to and from other cities like Aligarh and Agra will also be able to use this charging facility.
What’s Next?
Once the buses are delivered, the authorities will finalise stop locations, fare structure, and service timings.
