The anticipation for ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ is getting thrilling by the day! Prabhas and Deepika Padukone play the leads in this sci-fi drama, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani. Director Nag Ashwin is going to great lengths to make this a grand entertainer.
As the film gears up for release next month, the North America distribution rights of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ have bee bought by Prathyangira Cinemas and AA Creations, reports Sacnilk.The report further stated taht the distributos have paid a su of Rs 50 crore on a refundable advance basis, which is a solid deal for an Indian movie. In th past, Prathyangira Cinemas have distributed Prabhas starrer ‘Salaar’ and the same strategy will be adapted for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ as well.
Explaining the meaning of the title, Nag Ashwin had previously shared, “Kalki is the final avatar of Vishnu. Despite being set in the future, the film has a connection to the past that will be revealed in the film. We thought this would be an apt name.” And giving in insight about the action and weapons, he further added, “We built the weapons from scratch instead of renting an available gun prop, slapping on two lights and calling it a laser gun. We also did a lot of VFX to help them come to life. However, we have taken feedback into account and they will look much better in the film than in the teaser.”
After several delays, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is set to hit the screens on June 27 and will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil.
