The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is considered to be one of the most awarded cars by the South Korean automobile manufacturer.

Business tycoon Anil Ambani was recently seen in a sleek black electric Hyundai car. Anil, who suffered substantial losses in his companies, was spotted in the newly launched car at the Mumbai airport.

He was returning from Ayodhya after attending the consecration of Ram Mandir. Anil Ambani, who was once among the top richest men in the world, was sitting in the passenger seat of the electric car which was swarmed by the paparazzi. The footage has gone viral with many people commenting that a ‘humble’ Hyundai car is a representative of his now modest bank balance.

Commenting on the video, an Instagram user wrote, “Journey from Mercedes to Hyundai!” Another person said, “Officially he is bankrupt. How is India’s law?” Anil Ambai was previously spotted in luxury cars like the Land Rover Range Rover Vogue, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Rolls-Royce Phantom, and Lamborghini Gallardo.

It is interesting to note that the black-coloured Hyundai Ioniq 5 is by no means an inexpensive car. It is considered to be one of the most awarded cars globally. It was first showcased in India at Auto Expo 2023. As per Cartoq, Hyundai specially introduced the Ioniq 5 at a starting price of Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 500 customers in India. This price was eventually shot up to Rs 46.05 lakh (ex-showroom).

In India, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is sold exclusively as a rear-wheel drive vehicle, with a rear-mounted electric motor that generates 215 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. The electric vehicle’s 72.6kWh battery pack boasts of a 631 km range.

As per Hyundai’s website, the “IONIQ 5 was triple-crowned in the 2022 World Car Awards, as World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year, and World Car Design of the Year, changing the world’s view on electric vehicles.” The car can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Additionally, one only needs to charge it for five minutes to get 100 km of range.

Keeping in mind the sustainable ideology behind Ioniq 5, its seats are made of “eco-processed leather that is dyed and treated with plant oil extractions from flaxseed.” The rest of the furnishing throughout the car is also made of sustainable fibers such as sugar cane bio components, wool and poly yarns, and material woven from fibers made of used PET plastic bottles.
