Couturier Gaurav Gupta will return to Paris Couture Week on January 25 with a collection named ‘Aarohanam’. The runway show will take place on the final day of the presentations for autumn/ winter 2024 in the French capital.
The teaser video for the show posted on the brand’s Facebook page features a CGI golden snake, appearing to be made from metal balls, slither into an ancient building before the brand’s logo appears. ‘Aarohanam’ refers to the ascending scale or notes in a raga, a type of classical Indian music. With the brand’s penchant for dramatic, sculptural gowns, the collection’s title invokes a sense of theatre and classical culture.
