Emily in Paris revived for a fourth season
On June 17th, 2023, an announcement was dropped by Netflix on YouTube to remind everyone that the fourth season of Emily in Paris is underway. To date, Emily in Paris has gathered a total of 684,200,000 hours watch time falling in the list of the global top ten.
Production status of Emily in Paris
The fourth season production was about to start sometime in the Fall or Summer of 2023. However, due to the SAG AFTRA and WGA strikes, it has been halted.
Originally the third and fourth seasons of Emily in Paris were scheduled to be filmed back to back. However, that did not take place. The delayed production was initially confirmed by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu in Motion Dinner at the Kering Group’s Women on May 21st, 2023.
With the strikes being over officially, the series is back to pre-production level and filming is predicted to be in progress from January 2024. As per Issue 1377 of Production Weekly, a date of January 22nd, 2024 has been listed. Once commenced, filming is anticipated to be running till April 2024. The show’s budget is apparently between $3 to $5 million.
The social media accounts of Netflix on January 19th, 2024, posted an image of Lily Collins at a table read for season 4 of Emily in Paris with the caption which read as “Bonjour from Paris! Emily in Paris season 4 is currently under production.”
Cast members expected to be returning in season 4
Lily Collins will be reprising her role as Emily in the fourth season. Her best friend Mindy Chen who is played by Ashley Park will also be returning. Gabriel, the major love interest of Emily and played by Lucas Bravo will be making a return too.Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu is also expected to be returning as Sylvie, Bruno Gouery as Luc, and Samuel Arnold as Julien.
In an interview with Deadline, Darren Star has indicated about the return of Sofia, the character of Melia Krleing, and that of Emily’s ex-boyfriend, Lucien Laviscount Alfie.
