Shah Rukh Khan says ‘I’m the Indian for all ages’ in his victory speech after winning Indian of the Year 2023 Award
Dunki was carrying a lot of expectations as it was Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkummar Hirani’s first collaboration and SRK was returning after two all time blockbusters in Pathaan and Jawan. But given the topic and the competition from Salaar, the film received a somewhat muted response. Though the film was made on a reported budget of just about Rs 85 crore, the makers of the film would not be in any kind of loss.
Dunki in its first week itself had minted Rs 160 crore, but saw a 71% dip in week 2, to mint Rs 45 crore and in week 3, it saw another dip to collect just Rs 15 crore.
On Wednesday, the film collected just Rs 30 lakhs to take the total collection of the film to Rs 225.42 crore. The film is now nearing the end of its run, as it will have to make way for Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand, that releases on January 25.
