Travel restrictions re-imposed on France, Netherlands and Malta

The government has changed rules and advisories on international travel.

France, Malta, the Netherlands and several other nations have been removed from the list of “safer” destinations.

This means that that travellers arriving in England from those countries will now have to self-isolate for 14 days, with penalties for non-compliance.

The change took effect at 04.00h on Saturday 15 August.

Note that different rules apply to Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
