As many of Swansea’s bars, restaurants and cafés welcome locals and visitors back through their doors, the Big Heart of Swansea is reminding people to make bookings before heading into the city centre to avoid disappointment.
Enjoying a meal out and letting someone else take care of the cooking is one of life’s simple pleasures and is something we’ve been unable to do for months. But with businesses operating to a reduced capacity and closing earlier than usual, it’s a good idea to head out earlier to make the most of your long-awaited evening out and make prior bookings to avoid disappointment.
Many people are opting to head straight out for dinner from work to get into restaurants and bars earlier, especially as most places are offering table service so you can truly relax as you’re waited on.
Like many restaurants throughout the UK, restaurants in Swansea city centre have adapted their businesses in line with the new safety and social distancing measures to keep staff and customers safe at all times.
Eat Out to Help Out
The Eat Out to Help Out scheme is over halfway through its scheduled duration and Swansea restaurant owners and eateries have been thrilled with its success so far.
Offering 50% off food and soft/hot drinks up to the value of £10 per person Monday to Wednesday throughout August, the scheme was introduced by the Government to get hospitality businesses back on their feet after a difficult few months during lockdown.
Darren Cox, operations manager at one of Swansea’s oldest restaurants, La Braseria, is thrilled to reopen the restaurant doors again and the scheme has been a welcome boost for business.
He said: “The Eat Out to Help Out scheme has been excellent for La Braseria, with loyal customers returning and new customers taking the opportunity to dine with us.
“People have been so happy to regain some normality after what’s been a very difficult time for so many. We’re so glad to be back doing what we love and we’re so happy to see everyone heading back into Swansea city centre.”
The scheme means that customers of La Braseria, renowned for its iconic, top quality meat counter, can enjoy a 10oz sirloin steak for just £10.95 instead of £20.95 or suckling pig for £11.95 instead of £21.95.
