MultiFit conceived in the UK in July 2015 with aim of evolving as a community of fitness enthusiasts that are focused on embracing and propagating the culture of fitness to one and all, has rapidly spread its footprint across UK, India and the UAE. In about 5 years, Multifit has become one of the largest gym chains in India, with more than 40 gyms. Pankaj Sharma and Neeraj Sharma, visionaries and one of the leading Entrepreneurs of the country have recently joined Multifit as the promoters, to ensure growth of the company.

The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) is a global, invitation-only business network with over 14,000+ business leaders in 61 countries. The South Asia region encompasses 25 chapters with 1500+ members in India and 80 members in Pune.

The EO Pune Chapter recently launched a 6 week Transformation Challenge for members from its chapter and that of 9 other chapters of the South Asia region.

This challenge is conceptualized and being executed by Alok Kale (Executive Director, SEACO Pvt. Ltd.)who is the Member Engagement Chair of EO Pune for 2020-21, who believes that it takes 21 days to form a habit and 42 days to make a lifestyle change.

With this concept in mind, a basic challenge was chalked out to engage members and because fitness as a concept has such a universal appeal the challenge garnered interest from across the SA Region and very soon there were 410 members across 10 chapters from 3 countries (India, Nepal & Bangladesh) wanting to step out of their comfort zones and change for the better.

Aditi Chowdhary (Director, MPM Pvt. Ltd), the Member Engagement Co-Chair for EO Pune, suggested to include theme based physical fitness challenges for each week. The mixed workouts and getting members to compete with each other in teams and individually will help motivate participants to push each other and stick it out through the six weeks. Her idea was simple that to build sustainable habits, people need to be Consistent, Disciplined and Enjoy the Journey as well.

Aditya Pittie (Managing Director, PYN Autocomp Pvt. Ltd.), the President of EO Pune, says “Successful entrepreneurs need to possess high energy, mental toughness and stress endurance capabilities in all circumstances and this Transformation Challenge is working exactly towards this.”

With such an overwhelming response and such little time to execute, Prateek Chordia of Panchshil Realty and the Strategic Alliance Chair of EO, along with Alok had a meeting with Samir Kapoor & Sally Jones, Founders of Multifit, to partner the event.

MultiFit has had a kickstart to this 6 week virtual challenge of this magnitude in such a short time. Samir & Sally have always believed in community based fitness. “The biggest Hurdle in the Journey of fitness is Boredom and we aim to remove the hurdle by designing workouts that are a mix of functional, cardio and strength training – making sessions for our members both intense and interesting” – Samir Kapoor

The weekly challenges are chalked out with a view that every member should be able to participate, even if they have never done the exercise before, yet intense enough for the fitness enthusiasts to push their limits and compete on the regional level with their peers.

With the resources of MultiFit across continents, training and learning sessions were planned every week for this challenge. Multifit got some of the best athletes and coaches from around the world, like Marilyn Chinwenwa Okoro, a British athlete in direct contact with the participants for them to interact and learn from the best. This has helped many of the EO members break various myths about their fitness regimes.

The challenge was launched on August 31, 2020 with the Physical Fitness Challenges run by Multifit and the Nutrition habits being tracked by participants on the HealthifyMe App.

The theme of the first week was Mobility where members had to walk / jog / run maximum kms over 7 days. The 410 participants have clocked over 22,000 kms with many clocking well over 120 kms and few over 250 kms! The excitement and involvement was very visible!

Week 2 wrapped up with members doing as many as 33 Burpees in a minute – a herculean feat by any standard!

The member transformation stories are inspiring; from members who have never walked before but have now incorporated walking in their daily routines to another having never done a Burpee before but executing 8 in a minute with utmost attention to form!

A fitness enthusiast member who had not gone back to working out post his injury 2 years ago, covered 130 kms in the first week! He started running on day three and is loving it!

Some encouraging member stories so far..

Prakriti Jain, AB Leasing & Finance Ltd, EO Bhopal says: my biggest takeaway from the challenge is to reinforce the fact that our limitations are largely in our mind. Once the pandemic is over, I am now hoping to do a marathon one of these days.

Anjana Kayestha, EO Nepal is thankful for the challenge and says that this is getting people who do not give exercise a priority are starting to see positive change in themselves.

Sudeep Goenka, Goldiee Group, EO Uttar Pradesh, a champion of the concept from the very start, is pleased with the feedback he has from his chapter members so far.

The beauty of the transformation challenge is that it has got people of varied age groups from 25 to 55 years of age to focus on fitness and have fun while doing so and it has helped many to get out of their comfort zone.

Krishna Kishore, Gupta Enterprises, EO Chennai says

The transform challenge has been an amazing experience for the participants. Events of this sort focusing on health and also providing a ground for a healthy competition has turned out to be very befitting.

Thanks to Alok, Aditi, Multifit Coaches and all the 410 participants to so sportingly fall into a common code and compete and become self-aware.”

In the coming weeks, the participants will be competing with themselves to better their performances from over the previous weeks for which they get rewarded for going above and beyond their own personal best!

By the end of 42 days, members would have inculcated life-changing habits of eating healthy and including fitness in their routine which will help build stronger immunity and stay fit and healthy, both mentally and physically!

A Healthy Entrepreneur = A Healthy Company = A Healthier Society!
