Mississippi State baseball vs. Tennessee Tech canceled for COVID-19

Mississippi State baseball is in need of a new opponent for this weekend.

The Bulldogs’ scheduled series against Tennessee Tech has been canceled because of COVID-19 issues within Tennessee Tech’s program. The announcement came from a Tennessee Tech press release, which said the Golden Eagles are putting their program on pause.

Mississippi State (5-2) was scheduled to host Tennessee Tech for a three-game series beginning Friday at 6 p.m. and continuing through Sunday. The Bulldogs will have the ability to search for a replacement opponent for this weekend. Auburn, for example, scheduled a series against Boston College for this weekend on Wednesday morning as both schools had previous opponents pull out because of COVID-19 issues.

No one from the Mississippi State athletic department has publicly commented on the cancelation yet. The Bulldogs are still scheduled to play Southern Miss on Wednesday at Trustmark Park in Jackson.
