Henceforth, Bollywood movies made under filmmaker-brothers Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt’s banner Vishesh Films will be produced by Mukesh’s children – daughter Sakshi and son Vishesh and Mahesh Bhatt will no longer be a part of their journey. Mahesh Bhatt joined the production house as a creative head in the year 2000. Some of the most popular movies produced by the banner include ‘Daddy’, ‘Aashiqui’, ‘Sadak’, ‘Gangster’, as well as the ‘Raaz’ and ‘Murder’ franchises. Speaking about this new development to ETimes, Mukesh said, ‘Mahesh is not out of Vishesh Films per se. Please get this clear. The company Vishesh Films has been mine; my brother was a Creative Consultant on several projects even after he had stopped directing. If I have a film hereafter where I need him, he will be there for his creativity.’ Furthermore, he asserted that this decision was taken amicably and added, ‘We have had no fight, but he does not want to hold the position anymore.’ He also said that he feels it’s time his children thrive in the field of movie-making. Mukesh said, ‘Sakshi and Vishesh are going to take the Vishesh Films legacy forward. They have some brilliant ideas and I shall always be around to guide them with my experience. The time has come for my children to grow in the business of movie-making which we are very passionate about.’ During the interview, the filmmaker also said that he intends to be around doing what he loves till the time he can. He said, ‘This again does not mean that I shall not produce some movies under my name in the future. I want to die with my boots on.’ For the unversed, Vishesh Films has churned out over 57 films till date and Mahesh Bhatt has been a part of 90 percent of them.
