Design and Body Language

Skoda is best known for offering cars with a bold look and a sophisticated road presence. The same work ethic has been followed for the Kylaq as well. It comes with clean cuts and creases, making it one of the timeless beauties in its line-up.

It gets a bold front fascia, featuring an LED headlight setup, sleek DRLs, a signature-styled ribbed grille at the front, well-sculpted body lines, decent-sized cladding on the sides, and trending roof rails that set it apart from its boxy competitors. When it comes to the rear, it might remind you of Hyundai’s latest offering, the Exter as the taillight seems to flaunt a similar style statement.

What’s Inside?

From inside, the mid-size SUV feels like a blend of premium and luxury, The cabin offers impressive ingress and has been complemented by a robust 20.32 cm virtual cockpit and 25.6 cm infotainment system. The unit supports all wireless car connect technology including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay.

Apart from this, the other notable elements include multiple colour ambient lighting, wireless charger, multiple charging ports for front and rear passengers, electrically adjustable front ventilated seats, ADAS, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and a decent-sized automatic sunroof with anti-pinch system.

Cabin, Comfort and Utility Space

The company surely looks like it has invested some good efforts in making Kylaq quite practical as compared to its rivals. The SUV offers ample room for both passengers and cargo, allowing every occupant to enjoy the long journey with utmost comfort. It gets a massive 446 litre of boot space, which can be enhanced further if seats are folded.

Amid all the plus points, there are also some drawbacks. If you are someone who is slightly bigger than 6ft, it might create slight problems in terms of headroom when sitting in the back seats. To compensate for this, the company has used highly comfortable seating, which could be considered as the top USP, especially for the family buyers.

Engine and Power

Investing hard-earned money only makes sense when the vehicle feels good. Fortunately, Kylaq somehow justifies its price tag as it offers a rooted driving experience on multiple terrains. Most of the credit goes to an impressive 999cc 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, same as Kushaq and Slavia. It generates a maximum power of 114 bhp at 5,000–5,500 rpm and 178 nm of peak torque at 1,750–4,000 rpm.

The brand claims that it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.5 seconds. However, we tried to cross-check the claim and managed to push the same speed in 11.2 seconds with manual transmission, while the automatic version took a sweet 12 seconds.
