Ophthalmic devices maker Appasamy appoints Annaswamy Vaidheesh as non-executive chairman

Appasamy Associates, the ophthalmic equipment and devices maker, on Monday, announced the appointment of Annaswamy Vaidheesh as non-executive chairman.

Vaidheesh has over 35 years of core experience in the Indian healthcare and med-tech industry, including senior management roles at Suven Pharma, GSK Pharma, and Johnson & Johnson.

He has held key positions, such as President of OPPI (Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India) and Chairman of various committees and councils of industry bodies in India and the Asia-Pacific region.

Vaidheesh will collaborate closely with Appasamy’s leadership team, led by Senthil Kumar, CEO, to leverage his strategic vision, guidance, and wealth of experience as the company scales new heights.

The company is present across the entire value chain of ophthalmic devices – diagnostic, surgical equipment, and IOLs, and caters to both domestic and export markets.Warburg Pincus, a leading global growth investor, acquired a stake in Appasamy in April 2024.
