Shringar House of Mangalsutra partners with IIGJ to launch design contest

Mumbai based jewellery brand Shringar House of Mangalsutra has partnered with the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery to host a pan-India design competition to give IIGJ students a platform from which to showcase their design skills. 

“Shringar House of Mangalsutra is delighted to offer mentorship and resources to help these future designers shape their careers,” said Shringar House of Mangalsutra’s chairman Chetan Thadeshwar, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced on its website. “We look forward to witnessing groundbreaking designs that merge tradition with modernity.”

The IIGJ and Shringar House of Mangalsutra signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the recent trade show IIJS Signature 2025 in Mumbai. The design contest challenges IIGJ students to create innovative mangalsutra designs. Shringar House of Mangalsutra’s chairman Chetan Thadeshwar also recently attended the IIGJ’s graduation ceremony as guest of honour and shared his industry insights with students in a speech, the brand announced on Facebook.

“The signing of this MoU with Shringar House of Mangalsutra marks a significant milestone in our commitment to nurturing innovation and excellence in jewellery design,” said the IIGJ’s CEO Debasish Biswas. “This collaboration provides a platform for our students to celebrate this emotional value while infusing it with creativity that resonates with modern sensibilities.”

Shringar House of Mangalsutra specialises in gold manufacturing and mangalsutra designs. The business has partnerships with jewellery retailers across India and has operated for over six decades, according to its website. Shringar House of Mangalsutra’s flagship store is located on Mumbai’s Kalbadevi Road.
