Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 Sees Jump In Flight, Train Operations To Prayagraj; More Options For Flyers In Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi

Maha Kumbh 2025 is all set to kickstart on 13 January this year, and the event will remain operational till 26 February. The state government in Prayagraj has taken significant steps in making the biggest religious gathering comfortable for all in terms of travel.

To make it more convenient, the Western Railway has launched 98 special trains, ensuring every guest coming across the country will have a comfortable travel experience.

It has been reported that over 10,000 trains, including 3,300 special services will benefit the devotees. The report also suggested that a backup plan also there, which will be implemented if the event sees a high gathering of devotees.

Top Flights

Talking about air travel, the top airlines have improved their connectivity. According to the details, the Prayagraj will witness an average of 117 weekly departures at the start of February.

The budget carrier SpiceJet which does not operate from Prayagraj, will take care of the business with over 35 weekly flights. Interested flyers can take the benefit as these flights will depart from major cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and  Jaipur, Mumbai.

 Alliance Air IndiGo and Akasa

To manage the massive crowd, the government-owned Alliance Air will also boost its operation and will connect the holy city to Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Jaipur, Dehradun, and Chandigarh. Amid this, IndiGo and Akasa Air also improving their capacity, mainly offering connectivity from Delhi.

Destinations Total Departures

When it comes to the route and overall departures by top carriers, Alliance Air will offer seamless travel to Prayagraj from nine destinations, followed by IndiGo with seven destinations, SpiceJet with five destinations, and Akasa Air will connect it to two.

As far as the departures frequencies are concerned, IndiGo will offer 42 departures a week. This will be followed by SpiceJet with 35 departures, Alliance Air with 26, and Akasa Air with 14.
