Release Date
Netflix has announced the release of Kinda Pregnant, an R-rated comedy film, on February 5, 2025. The movie has been in development for some time, with updates revealed early in 2023. Production officially began in February 2024 and concluded in May 2024.
The film is directed by Tyler Spindel, known for The Out-Laws and Father of the Year. Julie Paiva, who has previously written short films, authored the screenplay. Amy Schumer is producing the film alongside Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions. Other producers include Tim Herlihy, Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, Eli Thomas and Alex Saks.

Plot
Kinda Pregnant follows Lainy, an English teacher who becomes envious of her best friend’s pregnancy. To cope, she wears a fake baby bump, leading her to meet the man of her dreams in a series of comedic misadventures.

Amy Schumer stars as Lainy. She has been associated with the project since its early stages, even before the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Schumer’s recent appearances include Life & Beth and Bros.The cast includes Jillian Bell as Kate, Will Forte as Josh, Damon Wayans Jr. as Dave, Lizze Broadway as Shirley and Alex Moffat as Rawn.
