Footwear designer Aprajita Toor and digital storyteller Scherezade Shroff have joined forces to launch a collaborative line of festive women’s shoes, designed to reimagine the classic Mary Jane silhouette with an array of fusion style embellishments.
“For me, this collaboration is incredibly special,” said Aprajita Toor about the collection in a press release. “It’s been a joy working with Scherezade to create something that merges our creative perspectives. The collection’s intricate Zardozi embroidery, delicate pearls, and plush velvet give it a versatility that speaks to a variety of tastes while staying true to Indian heritage.”
After originally connecting through brand collaborations and PR packages over a decade ago, Toor and Schroff have become “more like family,” according to Toor. The collaborative collection celebrates their friendship, styles, and features materials including Nappa leather, Zardozi embroidery, and pearls for an opulent yet modern aesthetic.
“Comfort has always been a priority for me, and we wanted to design shoes that feel like a second skin without compromising on style,” said Scherezade Shroff. “This collection is the perfect blend of craftsmanship and fashion- a celebration of the artistry and detail that Aprajita brings to the table.”
With a colour palette of green, black, and gray, designs include the ‘Umrao Jane,’ ‘Plain Jane,’ and ‘Rebel Jane.’ The collection has launched on Aprajita Toor’s direct to customer e-commerce store and with select retailers.
