Amid the steady progress of construction of the much-anticipated Noida International Airport, plans are now underway to connect the airport to the Ganga Expressway. This will significantly enhance the airport’s accessibility.

The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has approved the project, with work expected to commence soon.

The project involves constructing an 83 km link road connecting the Yamuna Expressway to the Ganga Expressway, at an estimated cost of Rs 4000 crore. This will necessitate the acquisition of 997 hectares of land across 57 villages in two districts.

The link road will also feature a new interchange in Bulandshahr, establishing a direct connection between Noida International Airport and the Ganga Expressway.

This project will serve as the primary route from the Yamuna Expressway to Noida International Airport. Connecting the airport to the Ganga Expressway will provide convenient access for residents of Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, and Amroha.

Beyond passenger travel, the link road will facilitate connections to other cities within the Delhi NCR region, including Noida, Greater Noida, and Faridabad.

The construction of the 594 km Ganga Expressway is underway, with 62% of the civil works and the base layer complete. The Uttar Pradesh government has instructed UPEIDA to open the Ganga Expressway to traffic by December 24. This will ensure swift and efficient transportation between Meerut and Prayagraj, particularly during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.

This crucial project is poised to significantly improve connectivity, leading to an anticipated surge in air passengers in Uttar Pradesh. Noida International Airport will enjoy enhanced connectivity to various parts of the country, promoting industrial and economic growth within the state and contributing to its overall progress.
