Hemesh Singh, cofounder of edtech firm Unacademy, on Saturday stepped down as the chief technology officer after nearly nine years with the company, moving to an advisory role. This is the latest of multiple top-deck changes in startups over the 12-15 months — as the broader tech and startup ecosystem undergoes a churn in the hunt for profitability and strong corporate governance.Let’s take a look at some of the key leadership changes announced by startups:

Inshorts: Online news aggregator InShorts’s cofounder and chief executive officer Azhar Iqubal stepped down from his role after 11 years at the firm, transitioning to the role of the company’s chairman instead. Cofounder Deepit Purkayastha has replaced him at the helm.

MyGate: Housing society management app MyGate elevated its cofounder Abhishek Kumar, previously its chief operating officer, to the chief executive. Meanwhile, cofounder Vijay Arisetty, who previously served as the chief executive, took on the role of chairman of the board, to guide the firm’s strategic direction.

Third Wave Coffee: In March, ET reported that specialty coffee chain Third Wave Coffee’s founder and chief executive Sushant Goel transitioned into a board role. From April 1, the company roped in former KFC India head Rajat Luthra as the new CEO.

Porter: Last August, tech-based, on-demand logistics company Porter announced similar leadership changes, with cofounder Uttam Digga, taking on the top job at the company, while Pranav Goel moved to the executive vice chairman post.

Epigamia: Mumbai-based health snack brand Epigamia in December elevated cofounder and chief operating officer Rahul Jain to the role of CEO. His predecessor Rohan Mirchandani moved into the role of executive chairman.Dealshare: In January this year, Dealshare saw cofounder Kamaldeep Singh elevated to the helm of the organisations. This was after cofounders Sourjyendu Medda, Vineet Rao and Sankar Bora quit the company over three months.
