As per the leaks, it seems like the upcoming off-roader has reached the final stage of testing, and now is all set to hit the Indian market anytime soon.

The launch of the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door, which is likely to arrive as Armada, is just around the corner. Recently, a test mule has been spied near ARAI’s facility in Pune, revealing the fresh development about the launch.

Here’s What Leaks Say

Going by the viral images, a test mule can be seen fully covered with a black piece of cloth, featuring the latest 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, the same design spare wheel at the back, heavy cladding on the sides, and a decent-sized footrest.

The photos also showed the touchscreen infotainment system, which looks like is 10.25-inch in size. The unit looks quite similar, which has been used in the newly launched XUV 3XO.

Expected Updates

It has been reported that the upcoming Thar 5-door is likely to come with an updated front grill, improved sets of headlight setup and revised bumper. Some notable highlights include a fully digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, front armrests, rear AC vents, and a decent-sized sunroof among others.

We feel the company might use the same style statement as the ongoing 3-door Thar. However, there might be some cosmetic improvements or additions of new elements, which will make it a complete package in the segment.

Engine Options and Power

The Thar 5-door is likely to be offered in both petrol and diesel options. The formers might feature a 2.2-litre engine, which will generate a maximum power of 172 bhp, while the latter might use a 2.0-litre turbo that will churn out an impressive output of 200 bhp. The SUV is expected to be offered in both 4WD and 2WD options.
