Ranjan Chandel‘s ‘The Sabarmati Report,’ starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra which was scheduled to hit the big screens on May 3, 2024, has allegedly been postponed. The new release date has not yet been revealed.
As per the latest report by Bollywood Hungama, the makers had applied for a certificate at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).The Examining Committee had seen the film and raised objections to certain scenes. Additionally, there were concerns that it might violate the model code of conduct as laid down by the Election Commission of India. It was advised that the film should be released after the last phase of elections, scheduled for June 1.
The report further added that the CBFC expressed reservations about certain moments in the film that could potentially hurt the sentiments of a section of the moviegoers. Therefore, the film’s team might consider reshooting the sequences.
