Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a significant revision in the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders, effective today, March 1, 2024. The price hike of Rs 25.50 for 19 KG of commercial LPG gas cylinders brings retail rates to a new high.
Delhi’s commercial LPG cylinder reaches Rs 1,795
Following the adjustment, the retail sales price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at Rs 1,795.00. Other major cities are also impacted, with rates set at Rs 1,911.00 in Kolkata, Rs 1,749.00 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,960.50 in Chennai.
No change in LPG rates for household use
While commercial rates surge, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged. Monthly revisions, customary for both commercial and domestic cylinders, continue to occur on the first day of each month.
State taxes influence domestic LPG rates
State-specific taxes contribute to the variation in domestic cooking gas prices across the country. The last revision in domestic cylinder prices took place on March 1, 2024.
OMCs boost ATF prices
In tandem with the commercial LPG adjustments, OMCs have raised aviation fuel prices following consecutive cuts. The latest hike amounts to approximately Rs 624.37 per kilolitre, with the new rates taking effect immediately.
