Former expenditure secretary Ajay Narayan Jha, SBI Group Chief Economic Advisor Soumya Kanti Ghosh, and two other members have been appointed to the 16th Finance Commission chaired by Arvind Panagariya. The commission will be assisted by Ritvik Ranjanam Pandey, joint secretaries, and an economic advisor. The commission will review disaster management financing and suggest tax devolution and revenue augmentation measures.
