Sneaker festival Soledition to hold second edition this February

Sneaker festival Soledition will hold its second edition to date from February 24 to 25 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. The event is designed to celebrate and promote the sneakerhead subculture and mix fashion with sport and music. 

“Inspired from the b-boying and sporting trends of the early 70s and late 80s, the sneakerhead culture gradually took over the world,” said Soledition’s founder and curator Siddharth Pal in a press release. “Over the years, sneakers have evolved to become more than just a comfortable footwear option. There is a deeper meaning associated with them. They reflect individuality, creativity, and have become a canvas for self-expression.”
 
The event aims to bring together sneakerheads, skateboarders, basketball players, gamers, musicians, dancers, rappers, and graffiti artists from across India. Sneaker brands from both India and abroad will participate in the fair and attendees can purchase sneakers and have them customised there and then to a soundtrack of electronic music.

“Soledition is an effort to collaborate with street and sneaker enthusiasts, where they showcase their shared love for the rising street and sneaker culture,” said Pal. “It is a platform where like-minded people come together to exchange ideas and immerse themselves. The first edition of the street and sneaker festival was a huge success, so this time, we have returned with more elements and activities to engage the community. We expect enthusiastic participation this time as well.”
