Designer and entrepreneur Oshin Sarin has launched ‘Oshin’ as a sustainable clothing brand, based in Mumbai. The brand has launched its maiden collection on its new e-commerce store and retails fully unisex collections.
The brand’s clothing is not separated into ‘menswear’ and ‘womenswear’ but rather by ‘bodytype’, according to the label. This is designed to promote inclusivity and encourage shoppers to explore their individual styles.
“The brand emerged with a singular purpose: to elevate unisex fashion by breaking free from the conventional notion that oversized clothing defines it,” announced the brand in a press release. “Oshin’s vision is to redefine unisex fashion, embracing a fresh perspective that transcends the confines of bulky garments and challenges traditional fashion conventions.”
Oshin’s first collection focuses on denim with indigo to light wash ensembles ranging from maxi dresses to blazers with matching shorts. The brand has also introduced its own sizing system to further encourage inclusivity.
Oshin Sarin graduated from Parsons, New York with a BFA in fashion design and spent a year working for Brooklyn-based clothing label Alix of Bohemia. After returning to India, Sarin decided to launch her own label to express her global influences and pursue sustainable production processes.
