The Mahindra Thar Roxx, known for its robust performance and durability, has now entered police service. The Nagaland Police have inducted the Thar Roxx into their patrol fleet, making it the first of its kind to officially join law enforcement in India. Traditionally, police forces across the country have relied on SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy, Mahindra Bolero, Toyota Innova, Tata Sumo, and Scorpio for official duties.
News18 takes a closer look at the customised Thar Roxx used by the Nagaland Police and how it stands apart from the standard model.
The Thar Roxx is an off-roading SUV equipped with four-wheel drive and advanced safety features. Unlike the older three-door version, the Thar Roxx now offers practical space enhancements. The customised model for the Nagaland Police is white with blue stripes and bears the word “Police” on its side body panels. It also features police stickers on the front and rear windshields, and flag posts on the front wheel arches. Observant viewers will notice window visors on all the doors.
