Apple’s 20th anniversary iPhone is shaping up to be a significant upgrade that will look to eclipse the company’s iPhone X announcement many years back. The report from Bloomberg says Apple is looking to reduce its reliance on China to make iPhones but this special iPhone model (probably the iPhone XX) will be made in the country because of its complex and premium design.
The big iPhone launch is still a few years away but the rumours are coming in thick which suggests the company is already well advanced in its plans to make this special model.
iPhone 20 Anniversary Model: What Special Can Apple Offer?
The company is reportedly going to bring a design overhaul with the special iPhone edition which could have a curved panel that does its best to give you a bezel-less screen experience.
This means you could see the iPhone XX model with an all-glass panel and barely any visible bezels that accentuates the viewing experience for the user. The report from ET News in South Korea claims Apple wants to take Samsung or LG’s help in making this panel happen.
The second big highlight of the iPhone 20 anniversary model could be the use of an under-display camera that will also take the Face ID security feature behind the screen and get rid of the notch once and for all.
We’ve heard rumours about this change with the iPhone 18 Pro series next year, so Apple could be planning for gradual overhaul with these upgrades from 2026 onwards.
You can imagine fitting these into the iPhone will require expertise in tech and Apple seems intent on making it work which means China will be in focus for its production needs, at least for the special variant. The company is already ramping up its plans in India to make the iPhone 17 Pro variants and more products should be joining the conveyor belt in the near future.
But the speciality of this iPhone doesn’t end there. The same report claims Apple plans to adopt the latest solid-state battery tech which is yet to launch with a market-ready phone. The company is hoping adopting this tech will allow this unique iPhone to accommodate some design tweaks without taking a big hit with the battery life.
The iPhone 20 anniversary still does not have a name yet but you can surely expect this special model to get an eye-catchy price tag. Let’s hope Apple keeps it within the range of the market and not show off its premium status.
