Instagram users across the UK, France, and Canada have reported being unable to access the popular social media platform, with many struggling to log in or load their feeds.
The issues reportedly began after 3pm on Friday, with hundreds of users turning to alternative social media platforms to express their frustration and check if the service was down.
While the outage has affected several countries, it appears no such issues have been reported in India so far.
Downdetector, an outage monitoring service, confirmed a significant spike in complaints about Instagram’s service, indicating widespread disruptions. It also reported that parts of Europe, Asia, and Australia are facing similar issues.
Many users have reported login failures, while others have encountered issues with their feeds failing to load, leaving them unable to access their posts or view others’ content, according to The Mirror report.
As the issue persisted, several users have flocked to platforms like X and Facebook, asking, “Is Instagram down?” and sharing their own experiences of the outage.
