The 100,000 E2Ws will be spread across India’s eight major cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, and Jaipur.

Zypp Electric has set an ambitious goal to become fully electric by 2028.

Zypp Electric, India’s leading tech-driven electric vehicle service platform, has partnered with Indofast Energy (a joint venture between IndianOil and SUN Mobility) to revolutionise last-mile delivery logistics.

The companies plan to deploy 100,000 electric two-wheelers (E2Ws) within the next 12 to 18 months. This significant move follows the successful deployment of over 10,000 EVs using Indofast Energy’s battery-swapping infrastructure. With Indofast Energy’s extensive network, this expansion will promote smooth operations and boost large-scale EV adoption in targeted cities.

Zypp Electric aims for 100 percent electrification by 2028. The new fleet will enable the company to grow fivefold, expanding from 20,000 to 100,000 vehicles within the next 12 to 18 months, and potentially reaching 500,000 vehicles over the following 36 to 48 months.

The 100,000 new E2Ws will be deployed across India’s top eight cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, and Jaipur, enhancing efficiency for delivery partners and businesses.

Indofast Energy’s advanced battery-swapping network allows riders to enjoy unlimited range and minimal downtime, which is a game changer for urban transport. With a quick 60-second battery swap, delivery partners can avoid long charging waits, keeping them on the move. In Delhi NCR and Bangalore, Indofast Energy has strategically placed swap stations every 1.5 km, ensuring easy access to batteries.

Tushar Mehta, Co-founder and COO of Zypp Electric, said: “This major expansion will not only solidify our market leadership in India but also propel us towards global markets in Southeast Asia, the Gulf, and Africa.”

Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President of Indofast Energy, added, “The deployment of 100,000 battery-swappable EVs is a resounding testament to our unwavering commitment to electrify India’s logistics landscape.”

Indofast Energy also aims to serve over a million EV users and plans to establish 10,000 battery-swapping stations across more than 50 cities in the next three years.
