Google launched the Pixel 9 series in August last year. Now, the tech giant is expected to launch the Pixel 9a smartphone in the next few months of 2025. It will be the company’s latest mid-range addition to the Google Pixel 9 series. Ahead of the launch, a series of leaks of the forthcoming Pixel phone have appeared online, which suggest a significant hike in the prices of the handsets, but only if you opt for more storage.
Shedding further light on the Pixel 9a price, the latest rumours suggest that the base model with 128GB storage will be priced similarly to its predecessor, Pixel 8a. However, the higher 256GB variant could see a steep price hike of $40 (Rs 3,400 approx) this year.
The Google Pixel 9a will be priced at $499 (Rs 43,200 approx) for the 128GB and $599 (Rs 51,800 approx) for the 256GB model in the US, as per a report published by Android Headline. The report also brings out Canadian prices at $679 (Rs 58,700 approx) for 128GB and $809 (Rs 70,000 approx) for the 256GB model.
Going by these figures, the Pixel 9a 256GB variant in India could be priced around Rs 64,000 which takes it closer to the range in which you can easily pick up the flagship Pixel model or other brands like the OnePlus 13 in the market.
Google Pixel 9A: Features Expected
The Google Pixel 9a is rumoured to feature a 6.3-inch Actua display with a 120Hz refresh rate. We expect the Pixel 9a to be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset as well and paired with 8GB of RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256 GB. Another highlight could be the 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging which is really slow these days.
The Pixel 9a cameras could be flushed with the back panel, enclosed in a module that boasts two sensors. The device will be slightly taller and broader but likely to get 8.5mm thickness.
The Google Pixel 9 price in India starts from Rs 79,999 for the base 12GB variant, while the Pixel 9 Pro, with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is available for Rs 1,09,999. The Pixel 9 Pro XL, with the same memory and storage configuration, costs Rs 1,24,999 in the market.
