The leading car maker Renault is all set to arrive with one of its much-awaited models Duster by next year. Ahead of the official release, it has been revealed that the brand is in the process of introducing a 4X4 engine option with a unique mild-hybrid powertrain in the SUV.
The same powertrain option has been spied on during the testing phase overseas, giving a clear hint about the model.
Engine Options
It has been reported that the off-roader is expected to be offered as a petrol-LPG powertrain option as well. This will allow the customers to have more engine options to choose from. Amid this, the company has not revealed any official details as yet. Some reports suggested it might make some announcement later this year.
Spy Shots
Going by the spy shots, the test mule was caught during the testing phase on the outskirts of Spain. It somehow revealed that the Duster might come with a 1.2-litre ECO-G engine, 48-volt MHEV tech, and will feature a 4X4 gearbox. The unit will be coupled with a petrol-LPG tech.
When it comes to the petrol MHEV LPG engine option, it is still under testing. The test mule revealed that the model was captured having side-mounted exhaust, positioned just in front of the left rear wheel. The element is likely to be eliminated in the production version.
Power
As far as the power is concerned, the unit will be able to run on petrol-LPG, and will churn out a maximum power of 147 bhp, and will be coupled with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It will also get a 48V electric motor, mounted on a rear axle that will work at the time of losing traction.
