Fashion designer Varun Bahl launches first café in New Delhi

Fashion designer Varun Bahl has diversified into the culinary world with the launch of his first cafe named ‘Café Fleur.’ Located in the Ambawatta One Complex in New Delhi’s Mehrauli neighbourhood, the eatery mixes Bahl’s signature aesthetics with European gastronomical inspirations. 

“Embrace the tranquil charm of Café Fleur- a green oasis filled with music, florals, and cosy vibes,” announced Café Fleur Delhi on its new Instagram page. “Immerse yourself in the magic of Varun Bahl’s cafe.” 

The eponymous designer is known for his luxury occasion wear and opulent bridal designs. With his foray into dining, Bahl has dressed his 30-seater space in botanicals and gentle green tones with both indoor and outdoor dining options. The designer was inspired by his travels in Italy and France and the community dining spaces he encountered there. 

“Café Fleur has been a dream I’ve nurtured for years,” Varun Bahl told Elle India about his new venture. “While my brothers’ [Vishal and Vivek Bahl, who run a food and entertainment establishment in New Delhi] work in hospitality has been inspiring, with their support my vision has come to reality. It was fun to bounce the ideas around at home. For me, I’ve always wanted to create a space where people could enjoy great food, beautiful design, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. It feels like the perfect time to bring that dream to life, blending my love for florals, art, and hosting people. I’m definitely happy and grateful to be where I am.”
