Amid the time when top manufacturers are prioritising electric cars, the leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki is in the process of introducing a strong hybrid powertrain option for the Indian market.
The option is likely to be seen in the upcoming Fronx facelift as a test mule carrying the hybrid badging already spied in the country. It has been reported that the model has been codenamed: YTB, and is expected to arrive in the market somewhere around 2026. However, the comapny has not shared any official launch-related details as yet.
Here’s What Spy Images Say
Going by the spy images, the Fronx in a hybrid avatar is spied without any camouflage, flaunting Hybrid badging on the side. This somehow confirms the news that the car has been treated with the technology.
Road Presence and Colour
In terms of the road presence, it looks like the comapny did not make any cosmetic cosmetic changes as it carries the same style statements as the regular Fronx. It continues to get identical connecting LED light bar at the back, LED taillights, chrome finish Maruti’s logo at the centre, and Fronx’s badging on the left side of the boot lid.
The spy images also revealed dual dual-tone colour option, which might a lot of target audiences for the upcoming hybrid version.
Engine
If rumours are to be believed, the Fronx hybrid will be based on the Z12E engine. The unit will have a series hybrid setup, which will make it the most fuel-efficient and churn out impressive power figures.
