Asus hasn’t launched its premium Ultra phones in the Indian market so far can that change with the upcoming 12 Ultra model?
The new Zenfone Ultra could have ROG 9-like features.
Asus is all set to unveil its highly anticipated smartphone, the Zenfone 12 Ultra on February 6 for the global market. The successor to the Zenfone 11 Ultra is expected to come with significant upgrades and enhanced performance. As per Gadgets360, the upcoming device might come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and is tipped to boast features that we saw on the recently launched ROG Phone 9.

As per reports, the device could be a rebranded version of the ROG Phone 9, similar to the Zenfone 11 Ultra-rebranded version of the ROG Phone 8. Therefore, the Zenfone 12 Ultra might boast a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR 1-120Hz LTPO display powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB (UFS 4.0) storage.
On the optics front, the Zenfone 12 Ultra, like the Asus ROG Phone 9, could have a triple rear camera setup that includes a 1/1.56-inch 50MP Sony LYTIA 700 primary sensor, a 13MP Ultrawide-angle shooter and a 5MP macro lens. For clear selfies and video calls, the phone may also have a 32MP selfie camera.
The Ultra model from Asus might pack a 5,800 mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support and 15W wireless charging.
Furthermore, the company is teasing that the Zenfone 12 Ultra will be focusing largely on its AI features, specifically the AI Snap, which appears to be an AI-assisted locked autofocus.
Asus is a strong name in the Indian PC market and it did focus with its phones in the country for a few years. But we haven’t seen the brand launch its premium smartphone in the country. However, as many companies have introduced their Ultra models in India recently, we are hopeful that Asus finally considers bringing the 12 Ultra model after it goes public next month.
