The 1.30 lakh-square foot facility was a large retail outlet earlier which paved the way for the present hospital. The hospital succeeded where the retail venture failed. The hospital is EBITDA positive and is yet to make profits at the net level, a top executive said.
“Trustwell Hospital is a unique venture where the people who understand the needs of a patient are also the ones running it,” chairman Dr HV Madhusudhan said in a statement. The current lead team of doctors come with a combined experience of over 200 years. The hospital has a team of about 90 doctors and has invested Rs 100 crore, he added.
The new 100 beds will be added across specialities including radiation oncology, Pet CT scan, heart & lung transplant, robotic surgery, haematology & bone marrow transplants. Trustwell said it planned to add two more units in Bengaluru to address the healthcare demands as it was also getting international patients for certain specialities.
Dr Madhusudhan added, “As we enter the sixth year of our birth as a hospital in the heart of the city, the baby steps we have taken have paid us notable dividends and we are motivated to take the next step by adding services & equipment”.
