Honda Amaze has been the backbone of the brand for years. It has not just lifted the sales numbers for the company but kept the segment alive to date. As the industry is getting more inclined towards SUVs, the company invested some effort, gave the model a major makeover, and launched the latest avatar under the price bracket between Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 10.89 lakh (all ex-showroom).

If you are someone who has been waiting for the updated Amaze to come and is still dicey about the choice. Do not worry; we have got your back. Recently, we had the privilege to sit behind the wheels of the latest offering and test it to the core. The CNN-News18 auto team tried their best to dig all the plus and minus points from the model.

In this detailed article, we have created a list of top pointers, mentioning if the 2024-2025 version has cracked the game again or not. So, brace yourself as we go on a long drive on an all-new Honda Amaze.

Improved Design

Every person has a different opinion about the road presence of the latest Amaze and the topic is quite subjective as well. However, it is important to note that the model somehow grabbed the premiumness with a bunch of trending elements. It gets fully revised fascia, featuring an Elevate-inspired piano-black grill, an LED headlight setup, paired with integrated DRLs, and round-shaped DRLs surrounded by matte finish covers.

Moving at the back, the rear section is identical to the elder sibling Honda City. The company has used City-inspired LED taillight, ditching the C-shaped unit this time. The decision somehow makes the vehicle look more premium than ever, resembling more City at the back from the distance.

More Space and Updated Interior

Jumping inside the cabin, the latest Amaze looks quite interesting and appealing as compared to the outgoing model. Now customers get dual dual-tone dashboards, soft touch on front doors, new-design AC vents, Honda-city-inspired multiple functional steering wheel, semi-digital cluster and improved  8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system that supports all the wireless car connect technology.

It is worth mentioning that the company has invested some good efforts inside the cabin. It offers generous space for both front and rear passengers, making it perfect for long drives or city commuting. The cabin is also well-crafted with ample legroom and boot space for your luggage. The quality of the fabric used for the seating makes it more comfortable than ever.

Features and Tech

Before exploring other trending features, let us tell you that the new Amaze now is equipped with a level 2 ADAS system. This makes it one of the most affordable compact sedans in the Indian market with this function. The other notable features include lane keep assist, cruise control mode, a newly added wireless charger, peddle shifter, automatic climate control and the list goes on.

Amid this, some of the features that customers were expecting, have gone missing. The list includes an automatic sunroof, front armrest, type-C charging port, and Head-Up Display (HUD), among others.

Engine and Fuel Efficiency

Under the hood, the new Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. It generates a maximum power of 86 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque. As far as the transmission is concerned, customers get a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox.

As far as the most important question ‘ Kitna Deti hai” is concerned, the model is capable of providing a decent of around 15 km to 17 km in MT, and around 18 km on CVT gearbox. Most of the credit for this goes to a well-tuned unit lightweight body, which makes it the most fuel-efficient model in Honda’s lineup.

Handling and Turning Radius

As compared to the outgoing version, the new Amaze somehow scores extra points when it comes to handling. The steering wheel feels smoother, and responsive on sharp turns, and the gears do not struggle in shifting.

Despite having a length of 3,995 mm, width of 1,733 mm, height of 1,500 mm and wheelbase of 2,470 mm, the minimum turning radius stands at 4.7 meters only. It makes it easy for the driver to make U-turns in a tight spot.

Here’s What We Feel

We drove the latest Honda Amaze around 50km, and found out that the compact sedan is a pure blend of practicality, style, and cutting-edge features. Whether you’re a first-time car buyer or someone looking for an upgrade, the new Amaze might be a wise option under the price bracket between Rs 8 to Rs 11 lakh.
