Oscar winner Jessica Chastain has received backlash on social media after criticizing JetBlue for giving her a $15 credit for in-flight entertainment instead of a ticket.

The 47-year-old actress from Zero Dark Thirty took to X in a post that has since been removed after her flight entertainment system broke down during a six-hour flight.

She appreciated the $15.00 credit by JetBlue. Chastain tweeted on Wednesday that her flight was $1,500, and the credit is 1/100 of the money she paid. The tweet was later removed. Strangely, she paid that amount for the in-flight entertainment system when it wasn’t functional for the whole six-hour flight, but it was worthwhile in exchange for this $15 credit. The celebrity didn’t stop there; she also made sure to include her receipt with the tweet.

JetBlue sent Chastain an apology via X, saying that they were sorry that she was disappointed and asked her to send a direct message so they could further investigate the issue.

The actress replied, enclosing a screenshot of her previous exchange with the airline’s customer support. When Chastain was told by the service agent that she would receive a $15 credit, she said, that since she has been a consistent customer and has a TrueBlue account, there ought to be some kind of flight credit or something. The agent apologized that there was nothing more that could be done, despite the Molly’s Game actress’s demands for more action.

Online sleuths attacked Chastain for publicly disparaging the airline in response to her complaints. The actress had just listed her NYC home for $7.45 million. Given that many Floridians lost everything in Hurricanes Helene and Milton, she was frequently criticized for being tone-deaf.
