Apple is now keen to focus on new products for the smart home segment

Apple is keen to expand its smart home segment with new products and power them with the Intelligence features via Siri.

Apple is reportedly set to unveil a new innovative display device next year, which will operate on homeOS, a new system based on Apple TV’s tvOS. This device is expected to support various Apple apps, including Calendar and Notes.

Additionally, it has been tested with wall-mounting capabilities using magnets. While rumours have existed for a while, recent reports provide more concrete details about the gadget’s development.

According to a recent report by 9To5Mac, Apple’s upcoming device, dubbed the “HomeAccessory,” is expected to feature a square design and utilize hand gestures for remote control. It could be powered by the A18 chipset, and this smart home device could act a hub for other smart home devices. The launch is anticipated next year and the rumours about this product have refused to die.

In other news, Apple is set to introduce its highly anticipated Apple Intelligence features with the upcoming iOS 18.1 update.

Initially, the Apple Intelligence feature will be available only for US English users. However, Indian users can access it by changing their language settings on compatible devices, such as the iPhone 15 Pro and the new iPhone 16 series models. This workaround allows them to experience Apple’s AI features ahead of the broader rollout.

The feature will be available in regions like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK later this year. As per the company, it will expand to more platforms and languages like Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), German, French, Korean, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and Vietnamese in 2025.

Apple Intelligence brings AI features like ChatGPT-powered Siri, Genmoji, Writing/Editing Tools, Clean, Image Playground, AI-generated memory movies and more.
