Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Lopez filed for divorce without legal representation on August 20, the same day the couple celebrated—or were meant to celebrate—their second wedding anniversary.The decision to end the marriage on such a symbolic day has sparked comparisons to Affleck’s 2015 divorce from Jennifer Garner, which was similarly announced just one day after their 10th wedding anniversary.
Affleck and Garner, who were married in 2005 after working together on films like ‘Pearl Harbor‘ and ‘Daredevil’, publicly announced their split on June 30, 2015, in a joint statement that read, “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time,” the couple, who share three children, said at the time.
