Apple is going to offer big battery upgrades on the Pro model

Apple’s iPhone 16 series launch is expected next month and the rumours about the upcoming models are picking steam.

Apple is preparing for the big iPhone 16 series launch event sometime in September. Ahead of the huge announcement event, details and leaks about the new iPhone models continue to surface online. Almost every feature of the latest iPhone 16 model has been leaked online, and according to a fresh leak, the iPhone 16 Pro will likely outperform the premium iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of battery capacity rise.

According to recent reports, the iPhone 16 Pro would significantly improve battery capacity. While the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are likely to have larger batteries than their predecessors, the smaller Pro model may see the most dramatic upgrade.

As per rumours, the iPhone 16 Pro would have a 3,577mAh battery, a significant increase above the iPhone 15 Pro’s 3,274mAh cell. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to gain a battery capacity boost, albeit the increase is expected to be less dramatic than that of its smaller counterpart. The Pro Max model is expected to have a 4,676mAh battery, which is up from the 4,441mAh in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. While this is a significant improvement, the iPhone 16 Pro stands out in terms of percentage increase.

It’s worth noting that these are preliminary figures based on leaks and actual battery capacities may differ. However, if confirmed, these enhancements might considerably improve the overall user experience of both iPhone models, particularly for people who rely heavily on their handsets for applications such as video streaming, gaming, and photography.

Not only do the Pro models have bigger batteries, but there are rumours that they will also have improved optical zoom capabilities compared to earlier generations using a new periscope zoom lens mechanism. Meanwhile, low-light photography and overall image quality could benefit greatly from this.

While the overall silhouette is believed to be identical to the iPhone 15 Pro models, there are hints of small upgrades, such as a titanium frame, which is heavily reported. The display may potentially have slightly curved edges, which would be consistent with the series’ overall design language.

On the performance front, these devices will be powered by Apple’s next-generation A17 Bionic technology, which is expected to provide considerable performance and efficiency advantages. This, combined with the potential for more RAM, could result in better multitasking and speedier app launches.
