AI images can be created using Dall-E 3 and free users get the option now
Dall-E is capable of creating images using text prompts and OpenAI is giving more people the chance to use the feature.
OpenAI has recently launched a new feature that allows ChatGPT Free users to create images using its advanced DALL-E 3 model. When the tech giant rolled out the DALL-E 3 in September, the ability to create images using DALL·E was only available to users who paid for ChatGPT Plus.
But with this new update, the company is extending this AI-image generation tool to its free-tier users as well, albeit with some limitations. It is worth noting that free users can only generate up to two images per day.
This move is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to make its cutting-edge AI tools more accessible to a wider audience.
Announcing this feature on X, the company highlights the creative potential, which is now available to a wider group of users. OpenAI shared a post on X and tweeted, “We’re rolling out the ability for ChatGPT Free users to create up to two images per day with DALL·E 3. Just ask ChatGPT to create an image for a slide deck, personalize a card for a friend, or show you what something looks like.”
While modern text-to-image systems have a tendency to ignore words or descriptions, forcing users to learn prompt engineering, the latest DALL·E 3 has the ability to generate images that exactly adhere to the text users provide. With this feature, ChatGPT will automatically generate tailored, detailed prompts for DALL-E 3 that bring users idea to life. Still, if a user is not satisfied with the particular image, they can ask ChatGPT to make tweaks with just a few words.
OpenAI says the ability to create images with DALL-E 3 will be available to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise customers in early October. The company also states that similar to DALL-E 2, users are free to reprint, sell, or merchandise the images they create with DALL-E 3.
Meanwhile, DALL-E, DALL-E 2, and DALL-E 3 are text-to-image models developed by OpenAI using deep learning techniques. The first version, capable of creating images in multiple styles, was rolled out in January 2021. Now, the latest DALL-E 3 can follow complex prompts and generate more accurate images.
