Author Amish Tripathi to lead creative direction for ‘Shri Radha Ramanam’, bringing Lord Krishna’s tale to global audiences | Hindi Movie News

The adaptation of Indian mythology into mainstream cinema has gained significant traction, with audiences enthusiastically embracing these narratives. Films like Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, have showcased the market’s appetite for mythological stories, achieving massive success.Many other films like Adipurush, directed by Om Raut and featuring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, further exemplifies this trend. The upcoming Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is highly anticipated, reflecting a cultural shift towards celebrating India’s rich mythological heritage.
Adding to the list a new project titled ‘Shri Radha Ramanam,’ which aims to bring the enchanting tale of Lord Krishna to a global audience. This initiative highlights the growing trend of adapting Indian mythology for contemporary storytelling, a movement that has gained momentum.
According to Variety, the creative direction is led by bestselling author Amish Tripathi, renowned for his Shiva Trilogy and Ram Chandra series, which have collectively sold over seven million copies. His expertise in mythological fiction is expected to add depth and authenticity to the narrative of Shri Radha Ramanam. Tripathi’s involvement signifies a commitment to reimagining Indian mythology for modern audiences, ensuring that the story resonates on a global scale.
The film helmed by Creativeland Studios Entertainment, is scripted by Prakash Kapadia and Raam Mori, who have dedicated two years to researching the narrative to ensure it aligns with various scriptures and texts. The production team boasts a talented team including director Hardik Gajjar, known for his work on the mythology-based series Siya Ke Ram, and cinematographer Ayananka Bose, who has recently contributed to popular Bollywood films.
The visual effects team is tasked with recreating the ancient settings of Vrindavan, Barsana, and Dwarka, crucial locations in Krishna’s lore. Pre-production and VFX asset creation are already in progress, with principal photography set to commence in November. The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release in February 2026.
Tripathi echoed this sentiment, stating that traditional Indian stories offer deep narratives that provide both enjoyment and valuable life lessons. He expressed his enthusiasm for the film’s script, highlighting its grand scale and thorough research. He believes that Shri Radha Ramanam will be a definitive love story, showcasing the multifaceted nature of love through Krishna’s experiences.
