Airlines with SSBD Facility
It has been reported that Terminals 1 and 3 are now equipped with 50 SSBD units, making it easy for the passengers to handle their luggage themselves. The service is available for the selected airlines including Air India, Air India Express, and IndiGo passengers.
Here’s How it Works
- After reaching the SSBD unit, open the respective airline section.
- Scan boarding passes or use the biometric cameras on the machine.
- The passengers need to agree to the dangerous goods self-declaration form.
- Once done with filling all the asked details, the passengers will be asked to put their luggage on the conveyor belt.
- After getting the green signal from the machine, it will load the baggage seamlessly, which can be retrieved at the final destination.
Quick Drop Solution
To make it more advanced, the DIAL also has introduced the Quick Drop Solution. It helps the passengers to enjoy an even faster luggage-dropping experience.
Under this process, the passengers can collect and affix their baggage tags at CUSS kiosks inside the terminal, which eliminates the need for biometric validation and boarding passes as these tags are filled with all the details of passengers.
Here’s What Official Says
While sharing the news, the chief executive of DIAL, Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said, “We are thrilled to introduce the self-service bag drop quick drop solution at Delhi Airport, setting a new standard for passenger convenience and efficiency in India. The quick drop solution not only speeds up the baggage drop process but also ensures a smoother, more enjoyable journey for our passengers.”
