Actor Shekhar Sumar, who recently made headlines for his performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial web series ‘Heeramandi’, opened up about meeting the late legendary actor Dilip Kumar. He took a walk down memory lane, and reminisced about the first time he met veteran Dilip Kumar. The ‘Heeramandi’ actor recalled how his first meeting with Dilip Kumar turned out to be a fanboy moment for him.
In an interview with Rajshri Unplugged, Shekhar Suman opened up about how he couldn’t contain his happiness when he met Dilip Kumar for the first time. He revealed that he had Dilip Kumar at a restaurant in town. He described their meeting as friendly rather than formal. Shekhar Suman poured his heart out when he met the veteran. He hugged his idol upon meeting him and expressed his admiration, saying that he had grown up watching Dilip Kumar’s film and had learned everything from him.
Shekhar also shared that meeting Dilip Kumar was beyond his wildest dreams, and even more so to touch him. He also added that towards the end of their meeting, he even held Dilip Kumar’s hand, and said that he won’t leave. “When he stood up, I said, ‘I won’t let you go’. Then he saw his wife Saira Banu, and said, ‘How much he talks’. How much he speaks, and how stubborn he is and he is not letting me go,” he recalled.
