Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud emphasized the need for strong institutionalization of arbitration to prevent dominance by a self-perpetuating clique. He spoke at the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, urging India and othe rnations to promote a culture of commercial arbitration. The CJI also pointed out that arbitration is no longer just an “alternative” of dispute resolution but has become the preferred approach for seeking commercial justice.
