PlayStation will support the upcoming GTA 6 game but not all the models.

Sony PlayStation gamers and Xbox owners will get the popular GTA franchise edition next year but some of you might miss out on the support.

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is all set to roll out next year. Gaming enthusiasts worldwide have been waiting with bated breaths for the next iteration of the GTA series. It was recently reported that the game will be released for PlayStation (PS) and Xbox first. But now, there’s bad news coming for the Sony PlayStation users. According to several reports, almost half of the PS users might not be able to play GTA VI on their gaming consoles. Here’s what we know.

According to a video journalist Stephen Totilo, Sony recently announced that PS has 118 monthly active users and half of them are still using the PS 4 consoles. And reportedly, the GTA VI will exclusively be out on the PS 5, X-Box Series X/S and the anticipated PS 5 Pro.

Now, with about 50 percent of the PS users still using the PS 4 consoles, their devices lack the required hardware to run GTA VI. This means the customers need to upgrade their consoles or they will not be able to play the game.

Earlier, it was reported that the parent company of Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, has confirmed that the GTA VI will be released in Fall 2025, meaning it will be released around September and November. However, the PC release timeline is yet to be confirmed.

“As we enter Fiscal 2025 with positive momentum, we expect to deliver net bookings of 5.55 USD to 5.65 Billion USD (approx. Rs 462 crore to Rs 470 crore). Our outlook looks like a narrowing of Rockstar Games’s previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI,” Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two said, as a report by The Verge suggests

In December last year, Rockstar Games unveiled the much-awaited trailer of GTA VI on their official YouTube channel. The trailer unveils Lucia, its first female protagonist, in a prison setting. As it progresses, Lucia and her boyfriend can be seen pulling off Bonnie and Clyde-style heists in Vice City.

“Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the GTA series yet, “ Rockstar Games earlier said.
