BMW has just launched the all-new S 1000 XR, set to replace the 2020 model.
This latest version comes with significant updates in design, performance, and features. The new S 1000 XR will be imported as a fully built unit.
Moving on, the bike is priced at Rs 22.50 lakh (ex-showroom India), which is Rs 40,000 more than the previous model.
The S 1000 XR shares its engine with the legendary S 1000 RR. BMW has improved the in-line 4-cylinder engine, which now delivers 170 bhp at 11,000rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 9,250rpm, making it 5 bhp more powerful than the previous model.
BMW claims the new S 1000 XR can go from 0-100kph in just 3.25 seconds and reach a top speed of 253kph.
BMW has updated the bike’s look by replacing the black beak fender with a body-colored one. The rear section now features new side panels and air intakes inspired by motorsport designs. Additionally, the seat has been redesigned for better comfort during track riding and touring. It stands at 850mm high but can be adjusted lower.
Buyers can customize their S 1000 XR with three packages: Touring, Dynamics, or M. The Touring package comes with a luggage carrier, center stand, navigation slot, hand protection, tyre-pressure monitoring, and heated grips. The Dynamics package includes dynamic ESA pro, shift assistant pro, and cruise control.
The M package, which costs Rs 2.50 lakh extra, includes the M Sport seat, M Endurance chain, M GPS-Laptrigger, sports silencer, tinted windscreen, black fuel filler cap, M lightweight battery, M forged wheels, and an optional M Carbon wheel. This package is the only one available in the M Sport-themed white color.
Besides these, the bike will compete with the Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak and the upcoming Ducati Multistrada V4 RS in India.
