After treating all the customers in India with the fourth-generation Swift, Maruti Suzuki is now planning to introduce the hatchback’s CNG version. It has been reported that the launch is just around the corner, and the vehicle is likely to arrive in the market in the coming months.
The report suggested that the newly launched Swift will be transformed into a CNG avatar, featuring the same design elements, style, graphics, and features.
Expected Engine, Power and Mileage
The upcoming Swift CNG is expected to use a fresh 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E naturally aspirated petrol engine. It will allow the customers to enjoy a decent power of 82hp and 112Nm torque of peak torque. The unit will be matted with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional 5-speed automatic transmission.
If rumors are to be believed, the CNG version might offer a robust mileage of over 35km/kg. To note, these are just the speculations, a concrete confirmation is awaited by the brand.
Current Lineup and Expected Price of CNG
Currently, the Swift facelift petrol models come at the starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top model goes up to Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). It is expected that the future CNG model might hit the market with increased prices, making it costly by Rs 80,000 to 90,000.

Once launched, the Swift CNG will compete against the tech-loaded Tata Tiago CNG and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG.
