Inside its brick-and-mortar store in New Delhi’s T1D Airport, The Body Shop has depicted a number of the metro’s famous architectural monuments with colourful murals, the business announced in a press release on April 26. New Delhi’s Red Fort, Lotus Temple, India Gate, and Qutub Minar are rendered in a playful fashion in the store along with the Yamuna riverbank. Along with signifying The Body Shop’s commitment to the Indian market, the design also highlights the brand’s focus on ethnical production practices.

In Ahmedabad, The Body Shop has unveiled a store at the city’s airport and another at its Palladium Mall which are both designed to celebrate the city’s culture. The brand worked with local muralists to create designs based on the region’s traditional charkha clothing.

The Body Shop also transformed its store in Kochi’s Forum Mall with designs depicting “empowered rural woman embracing nature and culture,” according to the label. The store’s mural is designed to stress the importance of a harmonious relationship between humans and the environment, which the brand states that it strives for with its products.

“The Body Shop is doubling down on its eco-conscious mission with a store design that reflects its values,” announced the brand in a press release. “From reclaimed wood and recycled plastics in the fixtures to the aluminium facade (a low-energy, endlessly recyclable material), sustainability is woven into the store itself. Even the worktops are made from 100% recycled materials, keeping waste out of landfills. This commitment extends beyond the store walls – over 70% of The Body Shop’s packaging is fully recyclable.”
